Book List
- When I Was Elena
- One of the most fascinating books I've read in a long time! Very good writing, and beautifully arranged.
- Beneath A Marble Sky
- My friend from high-school wrote this! It's amazing!
- The Eighth Promise - William Poy Lee
- This was a beautifully written book, a memoir of a man and his mother. I couldn't put it down, and have a better understanding of both the Toisanese culture and the San Francisco China Town culture!
- Measure of a Man - Sidney Poitier
- A friend gave me this book and I was excited to write it. Some of the stories Sidney writes about his childhood are interesting. Overall though, this book wasn't what I expected. The writing wasn't great, and the story and message were a bit confusing.
- One Thousand White Women: The Journals of May Dodd: A Novel
- This was a great book, and fantastic story of a stronger than strong woman!
- Anti-Bride Guide Wedding Planner
- I was interviewed for this book and they included some of my "expert information" about booking musicians for weddings and parties.
- The Complete Guide to House Concerts
- I was interviewed for this book and am included in a chapter about starting non-profit concert series.
- The Poisonwood Bible
- My favorite book by Barbara Kingsolver!
- The True and Outstanding Adventures of the Hunt Sisters- Elisabeth Robinson
- This was written well, and the story so heart-warming and funny!
- Ellen Foster by Kaye Gibbons
- A fantastic book. I loved the language and the stark story! She has a new book out, and I can't wait to read it!
- Kite Runner- Khaled Hosseini
- This book was so intense, I loved every page. The story so complicated, yet so intriguing.
- Natasha: And Other Stories - David Bezmozgis
- A book of interesting and quirky short stories. The one called "Natasha" is a little off, but in all, a good read.
- Stone Garden - Molly Moynahan
- I wanted this one to be better than it was. The story had the making for an interesting read, but the writing wasn't up to par.
- Brother Ray: Ray Charles' Own Story - David Ritz
- I loved this book! Ray was pretty wild, and had no apologies for his actions. His voice was really heard in this book. More so than in the movie "Ray".
- Broken Music: A Memoir - Sting
- I loved hearing Sting's story through his own words. Well written!
- Their Eyes Were Watching God - Zora Neale Hurston
- The language and the written dialect is so beautiful, as well the story.
- The Birth of Venus - Sarah Dunant
- What a great story! Great writing!
- The Professional Musician's Legal Companion
- Written by Michael Aczon, a great person and industry expert in Berkeley, CA!
